Average oil production in the sharing regime reached 722,000 barrels per day (bpd) in August, an increase of 4% compared to the previous month, Pre-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) reported on Tuesday (18).
The average production of oil under Union law was 31,600 barrels per day, most of which came from the Libra field (17,200 bpd), the first to be sold under the sharing regime in the country.
The volume is the result of six contracts under the sharing regime, with the Búzios field, in the Santos basin, having the highest contribution, with 423 thousand bpd.
In second place is the Libra field, with 111,000 bpd, followed by Sepia, with 100,000 bpd; Atapu, with 77 thousand bpd; Sapinhoá surroundings, with 7 thousand bpd; and Sudoeste de Tartaruga Verde, with 4 thousand bpd.
From 2017, the beginning of the historical series, until August, the accumulated production under the production sharing regime totals 252 million barrels of oil, of which 17 million are under Union law.
Natural gas
The production of natural gas with commercial use, in August, averaged 2.13 million m³/day in three contracts, with 1.92 million m³/day coming from Búzios, 184 thousand m³/day from the surroundings of Sapinhoá and 29 thousand m³/day of Southwest Tartaruga Verde.
“The result is 8% higher than in July, driven by the increase in production at Sapinhoá and Búzios”, informed PPSA.
In the same month, the Union was entitled to an average production of 150,000 m³/day, most of which came from the surroundings of Sapinhoá (121,000 m³/day).
From 2017 to August, the accumulated production of natural gas with commercial use totals 709 million m³, with the Union’s share of 138 million m³.
