Olivia Munn 43, actress “X-Men” , revealed how she felt after having a double mastectomy. In March, the artist made public her diagnosis of breast cancer.
In a podcast interview SHE MD, The star shared how she felt looking at her body for the first time after the procedure: “I was alone in my bathroom and I looked at them [seus seios] and I cried in a way I had never cried in my life. I was devastated. I didn’t recognize myself.”
In the interview, the celebrity also shares that doctors recommended that she get a larger implant in her breasts because they removed a large part of her tissue. “I didn’t want to have big breasts” she admitted. “You may think [que o que importa é que], I am here. And that I’m alive and I’m here for my baby,” she adds.
Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer just a year after giving birth to her son with John Mulaney.
“But leaving that aside, one day people will forget or not know [sobre a mastectomia], or maybe I won’t say I had cancer, but they’ll look at me and say, ‘Oh, what a botched job. Look at her””, he continues adding that this was one of the reasons why she chose to let her hair grow, to hide her scars and the size of her implants, in some way.
When she revealed her diagnosis, Munn had already mentioned that she had already had four surgeries in the last 10 months, including a double mastectomy performed 30 days after her biopsy. There were also many days in bed and she learned “more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than she could ever imagine.”
