OM Digital Solutions, which was formed in January of Olympus’ camera division by new owner Japan Industrial Partners (JIP), announced the development of two new Micro Four Thirds lenses. The M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO and M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4.0 PRO complement the visual presentation of the company’s current lens catalog and plans. There are three more future lenses on the chart: a macro lens with a focal length of about 100 mm and two telephoto zoom lenses in the range of about 50-200 mm. There is no information yet on new lenses, including specifications, release dates and prices.
Olympus lenses are credited with “the unrivaled portability and image quality that is the hallmark of the Micro Four Thirds system.” From the materials posted on the OM Digital Solutions website, it is clear that the new owner of the photography business Olympus will continue to rely on the compactness of the Micro Four Thirds system.
