The Ômicron variant has become a matter of concern in Brazil in recent weeks as it spread across the country and accelerated the number of Covid-19 cases. But, amid the spread of the new strain of coronavirus, President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) remains oblivious to the debate on how to mitigate the damage to the population of the new phase of the pandemic.
Governors and mayors have been breaking down data to support the new steps and, preventively, many capitals are already canceling the Carnival festivities. This is because the end-of-the-year celebrations have exponentially increased the search for care, and some cities have already registered a shortage of infirmary beds.
Bolsonaro, however, chose to devote himself in recent days to reiterating his opposition to childhood vaccination, contrary to experts, scientists and his own ministry, which guarantees the safety of the immunizing agent and announced the beginning of the use of the immunizing agent in children in the country.
Without presenting any concrete data, Bolsonaro once again questioned the intention of members of Anvisa to give approval to the application of Pfizer’s immunizing agent in children aged 5 to 11 years.
In this episode of Brasília Time, Daniela Lima and Renata Agostini tell the backstage of how the presidential posture has been contrasting for months with that of Health technicians. contacts Pfizer in an attempt to pre-order orders. Given the reluctance to announce the start of vaccination in children, minister Marcelo Queiroga was chosen as the “Picture of the Week” in the podcast.

In the Brasília Dictionary frame, specialists such as Renato Kfouri and Ludmilla Hajjar were heard to clarify doubts about the safety of vaccination in children aged 5 to 11 years.
The episode also features the already traditional electoral turn. Former judge Sergio Moro (Podemos) starts the year with a tour of the Northeast. He is in Paraíba and, in February, will expand the tour through the region, passing through Piauí and Ceará. At Ciro Gomes’ HQ (PDT), the order is to prepare artillery for Moro and work to dehydrate his campaign as soon as possible.
Bolsonaro already made it clear to the allies: who will appoint his deputy will be him. The chosen one will have to join the PP. Meanwhile, former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) follows the international path. After Europe and Argentina, the PT is looking to meet in Mexico.
Presented by Daniela and Renata, the Brasilia time is broadcast live and with video on the website of the CNN Brasil and on the channel’s YouTube channel, on Fridays, from 12:30 pm. The episodes can then be accessed on demand on major podcast platforms: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts and Deezer. After the end-of-year break, the Brasilia time returns with a new episode on January 7th.
