Omicron mutation – Italy: Five new cases confirmed

Five other citizens in Italy found positive in Omicron mutation of coronavirus. They are three children, a teacher and a domestic helper, who live in Caserta, outside Naples. Overall, so far, the incidents in the country are nine.

According to the APE EPA, which cites the neighbor’s media, the new cases with this mutation were infected by the two children of the manager who returned from Mozambique two weeks ago and who is considered the “patient zero” of this variant in Italy. Everyone has mild symptoms and their condition is not a cause for concern.

Stricter protocols in schools

In the meantime, the Italian Ministry of Education has decided that, from now on, only one class will have a coronavirus case, all students will return home, to distance learning, for at least ten days.

Until now, at least distance learning was needed to activate three positive cases in each class.

The Italian special commissioner for dealing with the pandemic, General Francesco Filiolo, announced that the new target for December is to be able to be granted, every day, at least 400,000 vaccines against Covid-19.

As of today, except for its periphery Rome, finally, and that of Milan begins its administration booster dose of the vaccine to all citizens over 18 years of age.
