An alarm was sounded in Germany, as the possibility of the Omicron mutation concerning the coronavirus, which was originally known as Botswana mutation to have arrived in the country.
According to a minister of Hesse the suspected case was located at Frankfurt airport.
“Last night Many Omicron-like mutations were found in a traveler returning from South Africa“, Wrote Kai Klose on Twitter, adding that the determination of the complete sequence of the virus variant is underway.
Several mutations typical of Omicron were found last night on a returnee from South Africa. So there is a high level of suspicion that the person has been isolated at home. The complete sequencing is still pending at the current time.
