Omicron mutation: Two cases were detected in Germany and one in Italy

Two cases of it Omicron mutation were found in Bavaria, the state Ministry of Health announced today.

The two patients, who have been isolated, arrived at Munich airport on November 24, before South Africa was designated by the German authorities as a “virus mutation zone”.

A little earlier it was announced that its president Germany Frank Walter Steinmeier canceled his three-day tour of the Gulf countries due to developments with the pandemic.

Steinmeier was scheduled to travel to the United Arab Emirates tomorrow and pay a visit to Qatar on Wednesday.

The decision to cancel was made due to developments in the last 24 hours, his office explained, referring to the emergence of the new Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2.

At the same time, a case of the Omicron mutation was detected in Italy. According to the Italian media, the case was located in the region of Campania in southern Italy.
