OmniVision Technologies preceded CES with the announcement of the OS04C10 sensor, which it calls the best in its class. The 4MP sensor with 2.0μm pixels is designed for IoT cameras and home security cameras.
Supporting an ultra-low power mode, the sensor is well suited for battery-powered cameras. It offers a high resolution of 2688 x 1520 with an aspect ratio of 16: 9, and its near infrared sensitivity helps with very low light performance. The proprietary technologies Nyxel and PureCel Plus helped to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. The sensor supports multiple high dynamic range (HDR) options, high quality stills and 60fps video recording.
The OS04C10 image sensor is already available as trial samples and is mass-produced in color and monochrome versions.
