On alert to Hamas, Netanyahu says “it’s just the beginning” after attack

Israel will continue to fight until his war goals are achieved, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in televised speech on Tuesday (18).

The prime minister used the occasion to alert Hamas: “This is just the beginning,” Netanyahu said at the military headquarters in Tel Aviv.

He described Israel’s new attacks on Gaza as a “return to battle with strength,” arguing that military pressure is needed to release the remaining hostages. The Israeli army will continue to fight Hamas with ascending force, he added.

“The military attack on Hamas and the liberation of our hostages are not contradictory objectives – they are interconnected objectives,” he said.

The ceasefire in Gaza was interrupted on Tuesday (18) in the morning (local time).
