On CNN, conductor João Carlos Martins will tell facts about the world of music and culture

In his debut on the board CNN experts, conductor João Carlos Martins, who will comment on culture, spoke about the expectations of his participation.

“I’ve always wanted a rostrum to express my views on art and culture, and at 81 years old, I’m getting that opportunity here at CNN,” said the conductor. Among the topics he will address, Martins cites cultural prejudice and the existing rivalry between classical music and more popular genres, such as country music.

“I intend to be a kind of teller of facts that have happened in the arts and culture through the centuries. Some will be funny, some sad and some hopeful.”

The musician continues to make ambitious plans for his professional future: “I am 81 years old and I have plans for the next 20.”
