You may not know who Gkay is, but you’ve probably heard of her birthday party: Farofa da Gkay. The event, which has been taking place for 5 years, was the most talked about topic on social media for several days in December 2021.
The party became a business for the influencer who has more than 20 million Instagram followers. “I consider Farofa a high-risk investment, it was a shot in the dark, people didn’t believe it. I was kind of crazy, but the payoff was immeasurable,” she said.
Gkay is the guest of the 19th episode of CNN In Profit podcast, CNN Brasil Soft project. To the podcast, she revealed to like the world of investments and to have a risky profile. In the conversation led by Leandro Munhós, the influencer talked about her business, how she started to make a lot of money with social networks, where she invests her own money, what she spends the most on and much more.
The entrepreneurial side of Gkay
Anyone who watches Gkay’s relaxed and humorous videos may not imagine it, but the influencer thinks strategically about each step of her career, as well as the business she touches. She currently owns a clothing and accessories brand and a wellness brand.
To No Lucro, Gkay said that he always wanted to undertake and took advantage of the success on social networks to put his desire into practice. “I’ve always liked to know how all the work is done, how it’s thought. Then I combined my power of influence and the desire to put it into practice.”
According to her, the most difficult side of entrepreneurship is the anxiety to see the idea itself become reality.
“When I have an idea, I want to execute it right away. For me, the hardest thing is the anxiety, it’s the desire to launch soon, to speak to the public,” she said.
