A small gesture of great help: this is what we can all do on the occasion of the National Food Collection Day, November 27th, buying food at the supermarket and online that will then be distributed to those in need. As always promoted by Food Bank Foundation, this year the appointment has an exceptional testimonial: Giorgio Chiellini. The captain of the national team is the protagonist of a commercial broadcast on TV and on social networks in which he invites everyone to play as a team by participating in this solidarity marathon that in 25 years has made it possible to donate 172,074 tons of food.
Join the National Food Collection Day it’s very simple: just go shopping on November 27 in one of the 11,000 supermarkets participating in the initiative (the complete list is on www.colletta.bancoalimentare.it), put suitable products in the cart, i.e. long-life products (such as homogenized fruit, tuna and canned meat, oil, legumes, peeled tomatoes), and then leave them at ‘exit ai 145 thousand volunteers, all spaced out and equipped with Green Passes, who will take care of reordering and distributing them. The products will be donated to 7,600 charitable structures that support nearly 1,700,000 people.
Those who can’t go shopping can contribute online donating from 29 November to 10 December on Amazon.it/bancoalimentare. Furthermore, from Sunday 28 November to Sunday 5 December it will be possible to participate in the Food Collection with Charity Card in Epipoli from 2, 5 or 10 euros, which can be bought in supermarkets and on the website www.mygiftcard.it. The donations will then be converted into alimony.
