On September 19, a round table “Cryptocurrencies for foreign economic activity” will be held in Moscow

On September 19, the Russian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce – World Business Organization (ICC Russia) will hold a round table “Cryptocurrencies for foreign economic activity: mining, payment, access to fiat”.

The event will be attended by Ivan Chebeskov, Director of the Financial Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, as well as heads of blockchain laboratories of commercial banks and large industrial enterprises. They will discuss the main provisions of the Resolution on the development of a cross-border settlement mechanism in cryptocurrencies as a potential alternative to traditional settlement methods. The resolution was prepared and sent by the ICC Russia Working Group on cross-border settlements in cryptocurrencies.

Among the questions for discussion:

  • development of mining in Russia: from the darknet to the infrastructure sector of the economy;

  • bill “On mining in the Russian Federation”: the problem of taxation and solutions;

  • Russian participants in foreign economic activity under sanctions: we buy and sell for cryptocurrency;

  • why the development of mining in Russia is critically important for cross-border settlements;

  • entry into fiat: what the industry expects from Russian regulators;

  • cross-border settlements in cryptocurrency and currency legislation: main issues.
