The Russian president Vladimir Putin will have talks with the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday in the Russian resort of Sochi in Black Seathe Kremlin said today.
Two Turkish sources told Reuters that the meeting will mainly discuss grain exports via the Black Sea.
The Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres he said on Thursday that sent Russia “tangible proposals” aimed at reviving a deal which allowed the safe export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, where Russia controls Ukraine’s sea lanes.
Russia withdrew from the deal in July – a year after it was brokered by the UN and Turkey – complaining that Western economic sanctions are blocking Russian food and fertilizer exports in violation of a parallel memorandum and saying that not enough Ukrainian grain is going to countries that need it.
