On social media, fans remember “Madonna’s umbrella” that wasn’t Madonna’s

The topic that dominates social media this week is one: Madonna in Brazil.

Among all the products associated with the singer being sold to those who will attend the show in Copacabana on Saturday (4), fans missed an icon from the 1990s, the “Madonna’s umbrella” .

The face of a blonde woman with short hair and thick eyebrows in black and white was the umbrella model seen frequently on the streets a few decades ago.

And although the woman has the singer's characteristic features and the object became known as “Madonna's umbrella”, a closer look is enough to realize that it is not her in the photo.

The identity of the woman portrayed in the umbrella is a mystery, but on the eve of the show and with everyone thinking about Madonna, internet users were nostalgic. And there were those who only discovered now that it is not the singer in the image.

“I loved the story of this umbrella because it clearly wasn't her, but at the time everyone just referred to him as 'the umbrella from the Madonna' even though I knew it wasn't her,” wrote a user on X, formerly Twitter.

“I only discovered now that it’s not her in the umbrella”, commented another.

On Enjoei, a used car sales platform, there are those who are offering the umbrella for more than R$100, as a “vintage umbrella”.

Those who still have the rare item today have started to show it off in photos on social media. And they also remembered a special detail of the model: the swan-shaped handle.
