On TikTok you can now subscribe to your favorite creators

It was talked about some time ago and now it’s official: TikTok is launching in beta, with the aim of obviously expanding it to more and more creators, its program of subscription. Basically, followers will be able to subscribe to a profile so that they can access the live shows but above all be able to participate in them standing out from the others, which will also be able to continue to follow them. For example, anyone who pays a monthly amount to their favorite characters will have access to chats open to subscribers only, emojis and stickers reserved for payers And badge that will distinguish them in the public from non-subscribers.

It starts on May 26, even according to a official video of TikTok, with a mechanism that will be added to the other channels to monetize on the Chinese platform (but which for Western operations is managed by a subsidiary company based in California) that we had already seen previously. In fact, until now, monetizing on TikTok had not been easy and many of those methods we had listed were in fact indirect, with the exception of digital gifts purchased by users and turned over to their favorite creators in the course of direct, which are confirmed as the main method of earning . There are also other systems reserved for superstars, however. But something is changing, at least for the most popular and followed profiles. For example, the group announced earlier this month that it will share a portion of its advertising revenue with creators who meet certain requirements.

Compared to the new subscription mode, well known to Twitch users and to which it will align in terms of prices (according to TechCrunch we are talking about 4.99 dollars a month, although there are levels that can reach 24.99), TikTok has not clarified whether it will hold a percentage. To be able to collect the subscriptions you must be 18 years old and at least one thousand followers. The program is by invitation only, for now, but it will soon expand to larger and larger audiences of creators large and small who publish all kinds of content every day.
