On Tuesday we will make it, says the PEC of Benefits reporter to CNN

Deputy Christino Áureo (PP-RJ), rapporteur for the PEC on Benefits in the Chamber of Deputies, told CNN on Thursday night (7th) that he is certain that the proposal will be approved in two rounds on the House floor, in next Tuesday (12).

“I have a very clear vision that on Tuesday we will achieve it”, said Áureo, after the president of the House, Arthur Lira, decided to postpone the Thursday night session.

At the beginning of the plenary session, opposition deputies tried to obstruct the vote with actions provided for in the House’s bylaws. The analysis of the text took longer because of the obstruction, but it had not been interrupted until Lira’s decision to close the session because of the quorum considered insufficient for the approval of the PEC with some leeway.

“I do not consider this postponement of a PEC that brings a set of benefits to be a victory for the opposition. Although the opposition has disagreements about deadlines, I understand that they are in favor of the merits of the proposal and will vote in favor next Tuesday,” Áureo told CNN.

Regarding the lack of quorum, the deputy said that it is the responsibility of the leaders of each party to keep the deputies in plenary.
