On YouTube, joint broadcasts appeared. The feature is available on iOS and Android

YouTube is rolling out a new feature to its mobile app that allows two users to stream together. The Go Live Together tool was first introduced last November and is now available to a wider audience on iOS and Android mobile devices.

A new feature allows creators of channels with 50+ subscribers to invite other users to co-stream. Only two people can participate at the same time, the rest have the opportunity to join in turn within the same broadcast. The requirement to have a minimum of 50 subscribers does not apply to them. This feature currently works on the YouTube mobile app and is not available on the web version of the service. Creators can only schedule a co-stream on a computer, but at the scheduled time, all participants must connect through the YouTube app on iOS and Android. The developers said that they are now studying the possibility of adding this feature to the web version of the service, so that in the future it will definitely appear there.

Go Live Together is in the pop-up menu of the YouTube app when you click on the “+” button at the bottom of the page. It should be noted that the function is available even to those who do not have 50 subscribers, just in this case, the author of the channel will not be able to act as the organizer of the joint broadcast. By the way, YouTube is not the first platform that introduces joint broadcasts. Last June, a similar feature called Guest Star was announced by Twitch. It allows you to invite five people to broadcast. At the moment, the Guest Star feature is still being tested and is only available in the web version of the service.
