On Youtube there is «Royal Family», the documentary that the queen wants to cancel

Embarrassing. It is the adjective most often associated with a documentary that had to tell the royal family and that instead could have burying them. Queen Elizabeth has decided that Royal Family he was never to be seen again. Since 1972 it has remained hidden in the BBC archives. He is still of this opinion as Buckingham Palace arranged for the footage to be removed from Youtube where it reappeared on January 15th. Thousands of people, however, managed to watch it.

The story is also known to have ended in an episode of The Crown. It was then Prince Philip’s idea to shoot a documentary on the life of the royal family. The goal was to make the royal family feel close to the people, to modernize them. A BBC crew followed the royals for a year filming for 43 hours. The result was a 110-minute program showing the Queen with her horses, her husband barbecuing and Prince Charles on a bicycle.

It was immediately clear that there was nothing in common in that family and that that documentary could only take away the aura of wonder necessary for the survival of the family. For this his majesty decided that he should never be seen again. It is unknown who uploaded the entire film, which has now been deleted because the BBC boasted its copyright.

First aired on BBC One and ITV on 21 June 1969, until now the program had not left the slightest trace behind it except in a few clips available on Youtube, with a few frames of that revolutionary experiment in which Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the family strive to appear “normal”.
