One billion dollars raised for the WHO at the World Health Assembly – “Greece contributes more than 20 million euros”

One billion dollars was raised on Monday 10/15 in the framework of the largest “investment round” for the World Health Organization to date, organized by the World Health Assembly, under the slogan “All for Health, Health for All”. Greece, represented by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, is contributing more than 20 million euros. WHO’s target for its next cycle, 2025-2028, is to save 40 million lives. In order to achieve its objective, the Agency needs adequate, stable and predictable funding. Speaking at the event, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis emphasized that Greece “recently emerged from a huge economic crisis and its Health system could not survive without the support of the WHO”.
