One Daythe TV series of the moment on Netflixbased on the 2009 novel by David Nichollsthen transformed into the famous film in 2011 (which featured Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess) is collecting record numbers and new history enthusiasts.
There are now a total of 14 episodes that explore the relationship between Emma and Dexterplayed respectively by Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall. The episodes tell in detail the common thread that inextricably binds them, as well as the relevance of a particular day: the 15th of July.
Those who had already read the book and watched the film “were afraid” to approach a new adaptation of the plot and risk being disappointed, some even hoped for a different ending, without that dramatic twist…
SPOILER ALERT!
Emma's sudden death, due to an accident, puts an end to the newly created idyll between the two who, in the past, had chased each other and found each other at the wrong times and with irreconcilable desires and attitudes, despite an evident affection and an ability to read each other's insides which has remained unchanged over the years, despite other relationships or silences.

Dexter, at the end, finds himself abruptly deprived of his soulmate and the future plans he wanted to build with her and he tries, with difficulty, to process his absence, trying to be as present a father as possible for his daughter from his previous marriage.
But that's not enough for the fans, they've grown so fond of the protagonists of One Day that you want to know what happened, after the credits, in Dexter's life.

Unexpectedly, the author responded on social media to satisfy their curiosity, writing: “I often think about it too, the good news is that I think he's fine, he's a good dad, stable and successful, sometimes he loves to flirt and he's a little light-hearted and definitely happy.”
It therefore seems that Dexter, after so much pain, managed to rediscover that spark that Emma had fallen in love with.
