One in five men in Finland believe that a woman is to blame if she is the victim of violence because of her appearance or behavior, according to a survey conducted on behalf of the Finnish women’s organization Nyktis, which described the results as “disturbing”. In this survey of more than 1,000 men aged 18 to 79, the question asked was whether a woman “could deserve to be the target of a violent act because of the way she dresses, looks of his or her behavior’.
