One month after the death of former child actor and DJ João Rebello Fernandes in Trancoso, district of Porto Seguro, in the extreme south of Bahia, the case continues without progress.
Only one of the three suspects involved in the crime surrendered to the police in early November, while two others remain at large, according to information from the Civil Police.
Rebello, who was 45 years old, was murdered in his own car on the night of October 24th at Praça da Independência, in Trancoso. According to witnesses, two men on a motorcycle approached the vehicle and shot it at point blank range before fleeing.
Initial investigations indicate that he was killed by mistake. According to the Civil Police, the former actor was confused with another person who had similar physical characteristics and owned a similar vehicle.
Suspects
Wallace Santos Oliveira, one of the three suspects in the crime, handed himself in to the police on October 31, accompanied by his lawyer.
ith a preventive arrest warrant issued since the 30th, Wallace remains in custody at the disposal of the Court. The police are still searching for Felipe Souza Bruno, known as “Zingue”, and Anderson Nascimento Sena, nicknamed “Danda”, also identified as being involved in the crime.
Who was João Rebello
João Rebello began his career on TV Globo as a child actor, participating in hits such as “Cambalacho” (1986), “Vamp” (1991) and “Bebê a Bordo” (1989). Recently, he worked as a DJ under the stage name Vunje and lived in Trancoso alongside his partner, artist Karine Santana.
With an active presence on social media, Rebello shared records of his work, travels and leisure moments with friends. His death generated great commotion both among residents of the Trancoso region and in the artistic world.
