Russian President Vladimir Putin’s leading foreign policy advisor told Washington on Thursday that a 30-day ceasefire proposed by the United States to interrupt the war in Ukraine would simply give Kiev’s forces a respite.

The US president declared at the White House on Wednesday expect Kremlin to agree with the US proposal from a 30-day ceasefire that Ukraine said he would support.
Yuri Ushakov, a former Washington-wing-winger speaking on Putin’s name about the main foreign policy issues, told state television that he had talked to Waltz on Wednesday to outline the Russian position on ceasefire.
“I declared our position that this is nothing more than temporary relief for the Ukrainian military, nothing more,” said Ushakov.
He continued to state that the goal is a long -term peaceful agreement “that takes into account the legitimate interests of our country and our well -known concerns. It seems to me that no one needs measures that (merely) mimic peaceful actions in this situation. ”
Ushakov stressed that the Kremlin leader will talk to the media later this Thursday (13) and outline Russia’s position in more detail.
Asked about Reuters news that Russia would have presented to the US a list of requirements for an agreement to end the war against Ukraine and restore relations with Washington, the advisor reported that the White House knows Moscow’s position.
