One of Lady Diana’s iconic bags is back. And it is branded Gucci

The fashion imagery to which Lady Diana has given life, through her looks, has undoubtedly stood the test of time: her style lessons cyclically return to inspire not only international celebrities, but the fashion industry itself. Not by chance, Gucci has just recreated one of the Princess of Wales’ most loved bags, paying homage to it with a revamped design and, of course, her name. This is the tote bag with bamboo handle presented by the maison in 1991, which Diana loved to carry with her, creating sporty, casual or preppy outfits.

An archive piece reinvented nearly 20 years after being spotted in Lady D’s hands: the new version, Gucci Diana, is characterized by two removable fluorescent bands in yellow, pink or orange, reminiscent of the straps that accompanied the original bag to preserve the shape of the handles. Its silhouette instead evokes a historical moment in which practicality had just claimed its space in the wardrobe, without putting aside its glamorous side. A real object of desire with a timeless charm, which embodies the idea of a constantly evolving style, typical of the Gucci DNA codified by Alessandro Michele.

The bag in honor of Lady Diana is proposed in mini, small and medium sizes and in seven different colors: black, white, natural leather, emerald green, bright red, light blue and pastel pink. The removable fluo straps also feature a Gucci logo buckle in gold-colored metal foil on the outside, but you can also customize your bag with letters and astrological symbols in a range of metallic foils.

In its different versions and possibilities of reinterpretation, the Gucci Diana reflects both the freedom of style that has distinguished the Princess, in fashion and beyond, as much as the expressive fluidity that accompanies the vision of Alessandro Michele: not a simple accessory, but a means of expression.
