In her recently released autobiography “The Woman in Me”, Britney Spears fondly recalled her visit to Brazil, at Rock in Rio, in 2001.
According to the singer, she felt “courageous, full of haste and impetus” when she arrived in the country. Therefore, she classifies the moment as one of the happiest on her “Oops!… I Did It Again World Tour”.
“One of the happiest moments I experienced during the tours was playing at Rock in Rio 3, in January 2001. In Brazil, I felt free, like a child in some ways – a woman and a child at the same time. I felt brave at that point, full of haste and impetus”, wrote the artist.
The artist also revealed that, during her stay in the country, she took advantage of the natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro. “At night, my dancers – there were eight of them, two girls and six men – and I went swimming naked in the sea, singing and dancing and laughing together. We talked for hours under the moon. It was so beautiful. Exhausted, we went to a sauna, where we talked some more.”
Physical, digital and audiobook
The book “The Woman in Me” was released to the Brazilian public by Buzz Editora in physical, digital and audiobook formats. In the audio version, the introduction is narrated by the artist herself. Meanwhile, the other chapters feature the voice of michelle williams .
Sources even told “TMZ” that the singer found it too painful to retell the sections about her family in her own voice, so the editors looked for an alternative.
The physical format has 288 pages, hardcover, and costs R$217.99 on Amazon including a free t-shirt. The translation into Portuguese is by Cristiane Maruyama.
The digital copy, in turn, is available for reading on Kindle at R$74.90, while the audiobook costs R$74.99.
