BYD, one of China’s largest automakers, made a very important announcement announcing the results for March. In particular, BYD announced that in March it stopped the production of conventional cars with internal combustion engines: from now on, only hybrids and electric vehicles will roll off the company’s assembly lines.
According to the report, BYD assembled 106,658 new energy vehicles in March, a 416.96% increase from March last year. During the month, 104,878 cars “using new energy” were sold, which is an increase in annual terms – by 422.97%.
In the structure of production, the distribution of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids is almost one to one: 54,684 and 51,434, respectively (growth in annual terms – by 266.2% and 853.37%, respectively). The report emphasizes that zero passenger cars (sedans, crossovers and minivans) with conventional internal combustion engines were produced in March.
