In one of the largest drug seizures ever carried out in Europe, the financial police proceeded in the port of Trieste: 4.3 tons cocaine. Cocaine could bring in at least 240 million euros to the various criminal organizations ready to sell it across Europe.
At the same time, the Italian financial police proceeded to seize 2 million euros in cash, a truck and an SUV. An operation is still underway to arrest a total of 38 people in ItalySlovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Colombia, with the accusation of international drug trafficking, reports the correspondent of the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency.
The Italian financial police, in cooperation with the Colombian and United States police authorities, monitored 19 drug deliveries over the past year to gather the valuable information that enabled the operation to take place today.
