One of the most sought after men in Pernambuco is killed by police in Alagoas

One of Pernambuco’s most sought after criminals was killed during a police confrontation in Alagoas. Leonardo Santos da Silva, 38, known as Leo Shazam, was hiding in the city of Marechal Deodoro, in the Metropolitan Region of Maceió, when he was located by the Alagoas Civil Police.

There was an exchange of fire, and, according to police, upon entering the residence, the suspect fired at the team, which he retaliated. Leonardo was hit and taken to the State General Hospital (HGE), but could not resist the injuries.

Police came to the suspect after a complaint that he would be negotiating long weapons in the locality. According to investigations, even living in Alagoas, Leonardo Santos commanded drug trafficking in the Detran community, in the Iputinga neighborhood, in the West Zone of Recife.

The police reported that the suspect was considered highly dangerous. He responded to 11 lawsuits: 9 for homicides and 2 for drug trafficking. The Pernambuco Court of Justice had already issued four arrest warrants against Leo Shazam.

In the house where he was living, the staff seized long weapons, including a 5.56 caliber rifle, a .380 caliber pistol, as well as many ammunition. Cell phones were also seized and will be subjected to expertise. “We will investigate whom he was selling these weapons in Alagoas. We want to identify and arrest everyone involved,” said Deputy Igor Diego.
