One of the suspects of extorting the construction company responsible for the construction of Parque Piedade, in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, was arrested this Saturday (24). The charge of R$500,000 so that the works would not be interrupted was denounced by Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD), in January.
José Roberto Muniz de Sousa, known as “Ret”, aged 27, was arrested in Méier, a neighborhood in the north of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, during an action by police officers from the Todos os Santos Police Station (26th DP), with support from the Repression Police Station. to Organized Criminal Actions and Special Inquiries (Draco) and the Undersecretariat of Intelligence (Ssinte).
The police monitored the suspect and served the arrest warrant as he left the community. He is responsible for the crimes of criminal organization, extortion, reception, association and drug trafficking.
According to investigations, Ret allegedly carried out the extortion at the behest of drug dealer Jean Carlos Nascimento dos Santos, “Jean do 18”, whose right-hand man he is.
Jean, who is a drug leader, has this nickname in reference to the community in which he operates, Morro do Dezoito, also in the north zone of Rio.
The drug dealer, who is also wanted for drug trafficking, armed robbery and qualified homicide, had his arrest requested by the state Civil Police.
According to investigations, criminals also extorted construction companies that carried out works in the neighborhoods of Encantado and Água Santa.
