That is, in the “Reader” of the company’s mobile application, it will be possible not only to read your favorite work, but also to listen to it as if it were prepared audio content. To do this, the user just needs to open the application with a voice command (“Alice, open the Reader”), select the desired book and click on the icon that appears today with the image of headphones.
In order to transform ordinary text from a book into audio content, the developers use their proprietary speech synthesis technology, but with a certain upgrade. The fact is that they decided to make the voice of “Alice” more natural and pleasant – for this purpose, the authors of the solution “showed” to the system many examples of the speech of professional announcers. The voice assistant, having analyzed many fragments voiced by specialists, gradually learns to correctly emphasize words, select the optimal intonation and even maintain semantic pauses. In addition, it is possible to choose the optimal speed of “reading” the audiobook or change the voice from female to male.
