The Town festival gradually completes the list of the top five international attractions that will perform in its first edition, in September this year, in São Paulo, at the Interlagos Circuit.
Rapper Post Malone will close opening night on the event’s main stage on September 2.
The organizers, who are also responsible for Rock in Rio, are going to bring the artist back to Brazil about a year after a performance at the festival in Rio.
In addition to Post Malone, the bands Foo Fighters and Maroon 5 have also been announced for The Town, which takes place on the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th and 10th of September.
With hits like Rockstar”, “Congratulations”, “Sunflower” and “Circles”, under non-stop rain, Malone played one of the most revered and praised shows of the last Rock in Rio.
Backstage, he also drew attention for the series of unusual requests required for his dressing room.
Along with the rapper’s announcement for the festival’s biggest stage, a special show by the biggest Brazilian rap group, Racionais MC’s, with the Symphony Orchestra of Heliópolis was also announced for September 2nd.
Mano Brown, KL Jay, Ice Blue and Edi Rock will perform on The One stage, which has the artistic direction of Zé Ricardo – the same person responsible for the Sunset stage at Rock in Rio.
“Uniting the Racionais MC’s with the Heliópolis Symphony Orchestra brings together two of the main prides of São Paulo communities and enhances the reality of young people from the periphery, on a stage that will stand out for bringing the city’s art and multiculturalism”, said Zé in a press release.
Tickets for The Town go on sale from March 14th, costing BRL 385 for half-price and BRL 770 for full ticket.
