OnePlus became the leader in the premium smartphone market in India in the second quarter. The Chinese manufacturer has displaced Apple from this position, taking 34% of the market.

In this case, Counterpiont analysts consider the premium segment starting at $ 400. OnePlus also ranked second in the Indian market in the 5G smartphone segment. The first with a share of 23% was taken by Realme. Overall, OnePlus sales in India have tripled YoY, thanks to the fresh OnePlus 9 lineup.

At the same time, Apple retained its leadership in the ultra-premium segment (from $ 650), taking 49% there. Also, the Cupertines increased sales by 144%.

The market as a whole grew 82% despite the COVID-19 disaster. India sold 33 million smartphones in the quarter.

Xiaomi remains the leader, occupying 28.4% of the market. This is followed by Samsung, Vivo, Realme and Oppo.
