OnePlus has unveiled its first mechanical keyboard. It was created together with Keychron

The OnePlus presentation, which was dedicated to the launch of the global version of the OnePlus 11 flagship smartphone and the company’s first tablet, also included several other equally interesting new products. Now we can definitely say that OnePlus has opened up the market for PC peripherals, as the Keyboard 81 Pro mechanical keyboard was officially unveiled at the event. Rumors about it appeared for quite some time, then there were teaser images of the device, and finally the keyboard was shown in all its glory.

The OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro was created in collaboration with renowned top mechanical keyboard manufacturer Keychron. Moreover, connoisseurs will immediately notice a striking resemblance to the Keychron Q1 model, but there are several features. For example, the transparent rotary knob and the “1+” branding on the Esc key. The OnePlus keyboard gets its name from its 81 keys, including a full-size arrow pad and a row of function buttons. Apparently, there is support for Windows and Mac, it is also possible to reprogram the keys at the firmware level using the appropriate utilities (QMK and VIA).

As for the switches, OnePlus doesn’t list any well-known brands. It’s worth noting that the company has its own branded linear and tactile switches, and judging by the blue rod in the images, clicky switches are used here. In any case, it will be possible to say exactly when the device will be reviewed by someone. The body of the keyboard is made of aluminum, additionally attached is a metal bar with rubber pads for adjusting the angle of inclination. It is noteworthy that the keyboard itself already has a slight slope, and the bar makes it even more.

OnePlus sticks to the classic keycap color scheme of white, gray and red. The company claims that the caps are made of thermoplastic material, but most likely it is ABS or PBT plastic. Hot-swap is supported, so you can make additional customization if you want. Well, where without RGB-backlighting, here it is implemented for each key separately. But the caps are not translucent, so the glow will be around the keys.

At the moment, there is no information on the cost and release date of the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro. The rumored price could be $120, which seems unlikely. According to the official website of the manufacturer, the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro is scheduled to start production in March, April or May this year.
