OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone, which is scheduled for July 22nd. Pete Lau, co-founder and CEO of the company, said OnePlus expects to sell 25 million Nord series smartphones by the end of 2023.
It is worth noting that this is a rather ambitious goal, because in less than a year the company sold only a million smartphones of this series. It turns out that in two and a half years the company plans to sell 24 million smartphones, that is, their popularity should grow rapidly.
Commenting on the merger of OnePlus and Oppo, Pete Lau said that the team will continue to release products as before, but they will have even more resources to provide users with a better experience. The company is also integrating OxygenOS and ColorOS to stabilize the software and improve the release schedule for updates.
It was confirmed this week that the OnePlus Nord 2 will indeed be powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1200-AI SoC. The phone received a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a built-in fingerprint scanner, up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. The main camera will be equipped with image sensors with a resolution of 50, 8 and 2 megapixels. OnePlus Nord 2 will be equipped with a 4500 mAh battery with support for Warp Charge fast charging technology.
