The coronavirus pandemic has revitalized the Android tablet market, with many smartphone makers focusing on delivering large-screen devices at an affordable price. Companies such as Realme, OPPO, Redmi and Xiaomi have already released their tablets during this time (some even several models), the rest are just getting ready to enter this market. Among them is OnePlus, which is rumored to be working on its own tablet, codenamed Aries, and has even entered the final phase of testing the device for an Indian launch.
Earlier rumors indicated that the OnePlus tablet should be released in 2022, but this did not happen. According to MySmartPrice, citing an anonymous source, the upcoming device could debut as the OnePlus Pad or OnePlus Tab very soon. The company plans to introduce it along with the OnePlus 11R smartphone. No exact launch date is known yet, but the OnePlus 11R is rumored to be announced in June of this year.
In terms of specs, the OnePlus tablet could be an inexpensive entry-level device. Most likely, one of the available OPPO tablets will be taken as a basis and slightly modernized. The source claims that the changes are likely to affect the design of the tablet and hardware. OPPO currently has an affordable Pad Air model that packs a Snapdragon 680 processor, a 10.4-inch 2K IPS display, and a 7100mAh battery with 18W charging support.
