Online crowdfunding created to help Mingau reaches R$100,000 in five days

The virtual crowdfunding created to help pay for the treatment of musician Rinaldo Oliveira Amaral, better known as Mingau, has already raised more than R$100,000 in five days. The goal is to raise R$600,000.

Entitled “Juntos pelo Mingau”, the campaign was created by the musician’s family on Friday (10) and all the money raised will help with the treatment costs of the “Ultraje a Rigor” bassist.

Mingau was shot in the head in the early hours of September 3 during a trip to Paraty, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Since then he has undergone two surgeries and is hospitalized.

On Tuesday (14), the artist’s daughter, Isabella Aglio, used Instagram to thank her for the help she has received so far.

“Guys, we hit 100k in the crowdfunding! I can’t believe it! Thank you very much!” she wrote.

According to the family, Mingau is progressing with treatment and is ready to leave the hospital and go to a rehabilitation clinic.

“After two months in the ICU, he is ready to go to rehabilitation. He has evolved a lot in that time, and he has a lot more to progress, so he can get back to doing what he loves most: playing, playing… and being in contact with nature!

And now is also the time to settle accounts with the team of neurologists who have been following him since the surgery. As family members are unable to cover all the expenses not covered by the health plan, we opened a vakinha for anyone who can collaborate in building a happy ending to this story”, wrote the family members.
