A snow storm, a missing woman and a mystery to be solved. It starts from these premises Only the animals – Stories of loving spirits, the film by Dominik Moll presented during the Venice Days of the 76th Venice Film Festival and finally available in cinemas starting from May 12. Based on the novel Seules les Bêtes by Colin Niel, the film – nominated for two César Awards, namely the David di Donatello of France – is a thriller which intertwines the fates of five characters between the south of France and Abidjan, in the Ivory Coast.
Everything starts from disappearance of a woman interpreted by ours Valeria Bruni Tedeschi during a blizzard. From there they engage five stories who unravel back and forth in time to reconstruct what happened on the night of the disappearance, trying to discover the truth through careful observation of the thoughts and actions of five different characters crucial to solve the puzzle.

Each of them has, in fact, a secret to protect, but no one imagines how far this story started. Only the animals – Stories of loving spiritsdistributed in Italy by Parthénos Distribuzione, starts from this set-up to explore the old French rural world and a little to dissect the frustrated and asymmetrical love stories of people who gravitate to disappearance, whose lives are fueled by misunderstandings, secrets and disillusions that the viewer will discover as the film progresses. To complete the cast of Only the animals I am Laure Calamy, protagonist of that little gem of Call my agent! on Netflix, Denis Ménochet (Inglourious Basterds) And Damien Bonnard (Dunkirk).
