The A21 – Child Benefit online platform will temporarily close on July 8, 2022 at 18:00, in order to start the process of calculating the payment of the 3rd installment of the benefit, as announced by the Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity Organization (OPEKA).
The calculation will be made according to the last cleared tax return. After submitting the current year’s tax return or amending it, the allowance amount is automatically recalculated. In the event that the income of the tax year 2021 is less than that of 2020, the allowance paid may be increased if there is a change in the category of equivalent family income.
However, if the 2021 income is higher than the 2020 income, then if there is a change in the equivalent family income category, the benefit paid may be reduced and the required offsets will then follow until the difference is paid.
In order for the allowance to be granted, the application must be finally submitted and approved. An application that has been temporarily stored is considered not submitted and will not be taken into account.
For the exact date and time for the resumption of the reoperation of the A21 platform and the submission of new applications, there will be a relevant announcement.
For more information on the child allowance, the categories to which citizens belong depending on their income and any other relevant issue, those interested can refer to the OPECA website.
