Open crater in Marginal Tietê begins to be filled with mortar and rocks

The crater opened at a construction site on line 6-Orange of the São Paulo subway began to be filled with mortar and rocks this Wednesday (2). In a press conference this Wednesday, Secretary of Metropolitan Transport of the state of São Paulo, Paulo Galli, said that the central lane of Marginal Tietê in the stretch that collapsed on Tuesday (1st), can be released until February 11th.

Civil Defense was on site during the day and, according to the technicians’ assessment, there is no need to remove neighbors from the site at this time.

The interdiction of part of the Marginal Tietê – one of the most important roads in the capital of São Paulo – caused traffic congestion in the city. While the situation is not normalized, drivers should be aware of alternative routes.
