The US Ministry of Defense for digital technologies and artificial intelligence entered into an Openai contract for $ 200 million. The company will provide the department with AI.
According to the statement, Openai will develop prototypes of advanced AI solutions. They are intended to solve “critical problems of national security” both in the military and corporate spheres.
Work will be carried out mainly in Washington and its environs. The estimated date of completion of the project is July 2026.
This is not the only major technological contract of the department. The US Air Force allocated $ 2.18 billion of Borsight to replace avionics in T-6A training aircraft and simulators. The program is designed until 2034.
The US Navy also relies on innovation. The Georgia Technological Institute received $ 14.1 million per study in the field of quantum sensors and electronic warfare.
Another contract for $ 466.6 million went to American Electronic Warfare Associates for Development and Testing for Integrated Combat Space.
Recall that in February 2023 the Pentagon used ChatGPT to write an article on the launch of a new operational group to combat drones.
