Openai filed a counterclaim against billionaire Ilon Mask, claiming that he deliberately harms the reputation and future company. The document submitted on April 9, 2025 contains a claim for further actions to the entrepreneur.

According to representatives of Openai, they threaten its development and stability, and also undermine public trust in the company.

Ai giant claims that Musk has launched a focused campaign, the culmination of which was a “fake proposal for absorption” aimed at destabilizing the company. The counterclaim is accompanied by the charge of trying to disrupt the transformation of Openai into a public good corporation – a step that should be completed by 2025.

In response, the lawyer Mask Toberroff said that the company ignored the billionaire’s offer to return to the non -profit model. He noted that the organization’s management preferred to maintain a commercial structure so as not to redeem the assets at market value, despite the initial obligations.

The initial lawsuit Mask accused the company from the mission of the creation of AI “for the benefit of mankind.” The main claim is the rejection of the non -profit status, which, according to the mask, was the key under the basis of Openai in 2015. The court rejected his claim for the preliminary ban, but appointed a hearing for 2026.

In the meantime, external pressure is enhanced by the AI-company. Several organizations, including trade unions and various groups, sent an appeal to the California Prosecutor General with an appeal to block the transformation of Openai. They indicate a loss of control over charitable assets and a threat to a public mission.

Openai in response claims that he will preserve a non -profit unit and direct resources for initiatives in healthcare, education and science. The company claims that Musk does not share its goals and acts from personal interests.
