OpenAI will release a new version of the ChatGPT chatbot – GPT-5. This is reported by Business Insider with reference to people familiar with the company.
Insiders said that OpenAI has not yet decided on the exact release date of the new model. They said GPT-5 could be released in mid-2024, most likely in the summer, but expectations could change.
According to Business Insider, GPT-5 will be “significantly better” than previous versions. Some enterprise customers have already received access to a demo version of the latest model and associated improvements to the ChatGPT tool, the statement said.
It is reported that one of the functions of GPT-5 will be AI agents that can be assigned to perform tasks.
Insiders also said that OpenAI is still training GPT-5, and later the new model will undergo internal security testing. Specifically, company employees and “several outside parties” will test the tool in various ways to find problems before it is made available to everyone. No specific time frame for completing security testing was given.
