The opening of Shein’s physical store, a Chinese clothing and accessories brand, at Shopping Vila Olímpia, in the south of São Paulo, was marked by confusion, discussions and long lines this Saturday (12). Videos posted on Twitter show customers arguing and even physically hitting each other in a melee in front of the store.
According to the brand, which was successful in Brazil with the online sale of products, the physical store will be open until the 16th of November.

The opening also registered a line of cars for two blocks outside the mall, still in the morning.
Sought, the advice of Shopping Vila Olímpia said, in a note, that the fight took place in the early morning and was “quickly controlled”. Also according to the administrator, the flow of the store remains normal.
Shein also said that it controlled “adverse situations” with agility and established new entry rules starting this Saturday.
“Due to the great success on the first day of opening of its first pop-up store in São Paulo, the company acted quickly, in compliance with the security of Shopping Vila Olímpia, to control adverse situations related to the agglomeration of people, inside and outside. the mall,” they said in a statement.
According to the brand, the change aims to “ensure everyone’s safety and offer the best shopping experience for its customers”.
This Saturday, the store will close early, at 5:30 pm, after 500 passwords are distributed so people can enter the store. On Sunday (13) and Tuesday (15), a public holiday for the Proclamation of the Republic, 500 new passwords will be distributed. On Monday (14) and Wednesday (16), the last day of operation of the establishment, there will be 800 passwords.
In addition, entry into the fitting room will be allowed with only four pieces per customer and entry into the store will be allowed in groups of 20 people, with a 20-minute stay limit.
