OpenSea Adds NFT Support on the Avalanche Blockchain

Trading platform OpenSea has added support for collection tokens on Avalanche. The platform now supports NFT on seven blockchains: Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Klaytn, Solana, Optimism, and Avalanche.

It is not yet known if OpenSea will support the blockchain economy, which is practically not updated in everything related to NFT. Avalanche is an open source network with native AVAX token. OpenSea reported that the top collections on this blockchain are Smol Joes and Smol Lands, trading at prices ranging from 600 to 3,000 AVAX.

The volume of NFTs on Avalanche sold in September amounted to about $2.5 million – about 25,000 transactions and 4,500 buyers. According to Dominic Carbonaro, Head of Business Development at Ava Labs, NFT creators on the Avalanche blockchain are just getting started.

“The Avalanche Network NFT community has a unique identity and a passion for experimenting with both art and NFT applications, and creators are just getting started in full force. We are excited to welcome the OpenSea community to the Avalanche Network and expand NFT reach into new territory,” he said.

Earlier, Securitize Capital entered into an agreement to tokenize the Health Care Strategic Growth Fund II (HCSG II) of asset management company KKR. The tokens will be issued on the Avalanche network.
