Collectible token trading platform (NFT) OpenSea has reported a leak of user email addresses and warned of the possibility of phishing.
According to the company, an employee of the Customer.io service received illegal access to confidential data of OpenSea customers. Using his work access, he “downloaded and shared email addresses provided by OpenSea subscribers and users.”
It is not yet known to whom exactly the data was transferred. However, representatives of the site emphasized that users need to be careful – phishing attacks are very likely to gain access to user accounts. At the same time, all users who reported their mailing address were at risk.
In an article on the company’s blog, OpenSea representatives noted that they are helping Customer.io with an internal investigation. Law enforcement agencies were also notified of the incident.
Earlier it was reported that the OpenSea platform is going to significantly strengthen measures to protect users from various scammers and plagiarists.
