Opera adds support for eight blockchains to its browser

Opera Software announced that the new version of Crypto Browser supports several popular blockchains at once.

This option is designed to make it easier for users to access decentralized applications (dApps) and services. Supported blockchains include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Ronin, StarkEx, Nervos, and Cosmos-based IXO.

Also, representatives of the company said that Polygon decentralized applications are now available in their new Crypto Browser on Android and personal computers:

“The average user may not yet dare to explore Web3, but with the integration of Polygon, Solana and other blockchains into our mobile browser, they will be able to access these technologies from a familiar space.”

Currently, Bitcoin, StarkEx, IXO, Solana, Deversifi, Ronin, Celo and Nervos are only available in the Opera Android mobile app, but the company promises to add them to the Crypto Browser in the coming months.

Crypto Browser is a standalone browser with built-in dApp support and a non-custodial crypto wallet. It also includes the Crypto Corner service, which gives users access to the latest crypto news, prices, information about gas fees and “upcoming airdrops”, as well as educational content and a calendar of events.

The company said it sees second-tier blockchain networks as a key strategy for its priority to remain independent of the mainnet and connect millions of users to Web3.

Earlier, Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange launched Coinbase Pay service, which will allow users to use debit cards for transfers and direct deposits to Coinbase Wallet from a Chrome browser extension.
