Opera Touch celebrates three years with an abbreviated name and a new interface on iOS

Today, March 22, representatives of the Opera company published a fresh press release, in which they announced a major update of the Opera Touch browser for iOS – it was timed to coincide with the third birthday of this application. The developers of the browser decided to shorten the name of the software from Opera Touch to Opera, and the user interface has been significantly modernized for ease of use. For example, designers have completely abandoned shadows and various decorative elements, making the interface as flat as possible. This, according to the creators of the browser, should make the application more comfortable in everyday use.

The most striking interface change is the new Quick Actions menu, which got rid of shadows and became simpler, and it also got additional buttons so that the user did not need to go to other menus. At the same time, the developers reported that the application logo is no longer purple – the letter “O” has become red, some fonts, the color palette have been changed, and the dark and light themes have been slightly redesigned. But, of course, the developers did not stop only at the interface design and the name – they presented several very useful functions that will appeal to fans of the Apple ecosystem.

For example, the Flow function has appeared, which remotely copies Apple’s Continuity capabilities. The user can open the app on an iOS device, open the Flow menu in the sidebar, and then scan the QR code from the screen of their laptop or computer. After creating this link, the user can easily exchange links, notes, images and even files between devices. The browser also boasts a built-in Ethereum cryptocurrency wallet, which is certainly a very useful advantage for fans of this currency. And on iOS 14, users can set the Opera browser as the default application.
