An operation of the Bahia Civil Police ended with five suspects killed after confrontation with police on the morning of Wednesday (19). The action also resulted in the arrest of nine people. The group is investigated for homicides, drug trafficking and vehicle theft in the capital and inland.
Investigations from the Department of Homicide and Person Protection (DHPP) pointed out that the crimes occurred in 2024 and are related to trafficking. At least eight people were killed in crimes made by the suspects, among the victims is an 11 -year -old child.
A man named as one of the gang chiefs, identified as Luís Cláudio dos Santos Passo, was killed during the exchange of fire on Wednesday (19). He was found in the city of Presidente Tancredo Neves, in the southern low of Bahia.
In Salvador, arrest and search and seizure warrants were served in four neighborhoods. Weapons, drugs, ammunition, grenades, notes, money and cell phones were seized.
According to information from the Civil Police, of the nine people who were arrested, eight had open arrest warrants. Seven court orders were enforced in the prison system. A woman was filed in the act for drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
