An operation arrested 24 suspects of being part of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking, homicides and illegal carrying of weapons operating in the states of Alagoas and Pernambuco . The arrests took place on Tuesday morning (21) and in total 84 warrants arrest, search and seizure were issued.
According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of Alagoas, the operation called “Hermes” is titled this way in allusion to the messenger god of Greek mythology, a reference to the communication system used by the criminal organization.
The action was collaborated by the Civil Police, with agents from DRACCO, the Tactical Integrated Special Rescue Groups (TIGRE), CORE and the Integrated Coastal Police Operation (OPLIT). In addition, the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE), the Shock Police Company, the ROTAM Battalion, the Independent Company of Intensive and Ostensive Actions Ronda (RAIO), the 3rd Company of Atalaia, the Kennel, of the 3rd BPM, of the Traffic Police Battalion (BPTran) and the Highway Police Battalion (BPRv).
The operation also had the support of the Penal Police of Alagoas and Pernambuco.
